This is an abstract gameIt does not offer you stereotypical high speed high contrast animation of over-sexualized humaniform characters nor does it offer you a great variety of fantastic power-ups -- nothing that a childish mind would die for. Instead it gives you rare pleasure of intellectual exercise -- something that very few games offer nowadays.
This is a "new" gameThis is a recently discovered ancient board game of the native peoples of Siberia. Until the late 2014 this game was not known to the western society, therefore it is new. Unlike the vast majority of computer games, it is not a clone of anything you have played before, and it is not even a chess's spin off. This is real breakthrough in abstract strategy game design, it introduces a brand new game mechanics.
This is NOT a game of chanceAlthough it spices your gameplay with uncertainty, it does not depend on luck -- there are no bad nor good dice in the game. Countless generations of Siberian people were considering this game a lesson to overcome Luck with Skill. Unlike the vast majority of dice throwing games, in Siberian Dice the dice outcome does not designate any measurable value at all (no "power", no "strikes", no "prevalence", etc), the dice outcome defines "roles" of the dice on the board. You may build a strategy that deals equally good with all those "roles", and it is your responsibility to do so, but if you chose to wait for a certain number you are doomed to lose.
This is a difficult gameDespite the simplicity of the rules, and the asceticism of the outfit, this game is very deep and offer you no obvious strategy. This game pretends to be simple until you meet a stronger player, and then it mysteriously becomes difficult, and you can not realize where does this difficulty come from, where does it hide?
This is a game of an intense dramaThe goal is so fragile that one perfectly crafted move may turn a seemingly favorable position into its opposite. The game result is never obvious in a mid-game. This game does not allow a winning player to relax. And there is always hope until the very last move. Don't mistake this property for indecisiveness, it is that the truly decisive moves are very subtle. Also the goal of the game requires you to exploit your opponet's dice -- complicated!
This is an elegant gameThis game was invented and played by people without written language -- naturally they managed to make the rules unprecedentedly concise. Its entire ruleset fits into mere few sentences. An elementary school kid will find the rules clear and will begin to play in few minutes. Yet these rules generate the immense amount of possible games with very high branching factor (approximately as many as those of chess!). There is a fundamental difference between being able to play and being able to win.
